MAP OF THE SOUL : PERSONA is BTS’s sixth Korean extended play, released on April 12 2019 through Big Hit Entertainment. The seven-track EP opens the MAP OF THE SOUL series and explores themes of identity love and self-discovery inspired by Jungian psychology. Lead single Boy With Luv (Feat. Halsey) conveys joy in connection and everyday love while other songs like Mikrokosmos, Make It Right, HOME, Jamais Vu and Dionysus showcase both introspective lyricism and dynamic production. The opening track Intro : Persona features RM questioning “Who am I?” as the group turns inward before looking outward. The release topped the US Billboard 200 making BTS the first band since The Beatles to earn three number one albums in less than one year. It also became the best-selling album of 2019 in South Korea and significantly expanded ARMY’s global reach.
