THE SOUND is Stray Kids’ first full Japanese studio album released on February 22, 2023 via JYP Entertainment and Epic Records Japan. The ten‑track album features a mix of five Japanese originals including the title track THE SOUND, Battle Ground, Lost Me, DLMLU, Novel, and Scars, plus Japanese versions of Case 143, Chill, and Thunderous, along with digital pre‑release songs THE SOUND and There. THE SOUND debuted at number one on Oricon’s weekly Albums Chart with 378,000 copies sold in its first week and topped Billboard Japan’s Hot Albums chart. It earned RIAJ double platinum certification and became the highest‑selling Japanese album by a K‑pop act that year. This achievement reinforced Stray Kids’ status as major players in the Japanese market and strengthened global appeal to STAYs.
