O!RUL8,2? is the first mini album by BTS, released on September 11, 2013 through Big Hit Entertainment. The EP followed their debut single album 2 Cool 4 Skool and became the second installment in BTS’s early “school trilogy” series. Featuring ten tracks with N.O as the lead single, the album helped establish BTS’s identity as a socially conscious hip hop group in the K pop industry.

Musically, O!RUL8,2? blends hip hop, R&B, and trap influences while continuing the rebellious and energetic style introduced in their debut. Songs such as N.O, We On, If I Ruled the World, and Coffee showcase the group’s strong rap performances, expressive vocals, and storytelling lyrics. The album explores themes about youth, dreams, and the pressures of the education system, encouraging listeners to pursue happiness and their own path in life.

Upon release, O!RUL8,2? debuted at number four on South Korea’s Gaon Weekly Album Chart and later ranked among the year’s best selling albums. The project strengthened BTS’s early fanbase known as ARMY and played an important role in shaping the group’s artistic direction during their rookie era. Today, it remains a significant release in BTS’s discography and an essential album for collectors and fans of early K pop.
