TAEYANG - QUINTESSENCE

QUINTESSENCE is the fourth full length studio album by South Korean singer TAEYANG of BIGBANG, released on May 18, 2026 through THEBLACKLABEL. The album marks his first full studio album in nine years following White Night and arrives after the release of his 2023 EP Down to Earth. Announced as a major comeback project in TAEYANG’s solo career, QUINTESSENCE presents a renewed artistic direction while reflecting his continued evolution as one of K pop’s most respected vocalists and performers. 

The album blends R&B, neo soul, dance pop, hip hop and vintage synth influences into a polished and genre diverse body of work that highlights TAEYANG’s signature vocal tone and emotional delivery. Led by the title track LIVE FAST DIE SLOW, the project explores themes of identity, ambition, love, reflection and personal growth through atmospheric production and a mix of energetic and introspective songs. Featuring collaborations with artists including Tarzzan, Woochan and The Kid LAROI, QUINTESSENCE expands TAEYANG’s sound while maintaining the soulful performance style that has defined much of his solo discography.
