DARK & WILD is the first full‑length studio album by BTS, released on August 19, 2014 through Big Hit Entertainment. This major project follows their early school trilogy era and represents BTS’s transition into a darker, more mature sound and concept. Featuring 14 tracks with Danger as the lead single and War of Hormone as a secondary promotional track, DARK & WILD solidified BTS’s identity as dynamic hip hop and pop artists.

Musically, the album blends hip hop, R&B, dance‑pop, and pop rock influences while exploring themes of love, frustration, and youthful intensity. Danger delivers hard‑hitting hybrid hip hop energy, while other tracks like Let Me Know and Rain highlight the group’s vocal versatility and lyrical depth. The diverse tracklist also includes BTS Cypher Pt.3: Killer and Hip Hop Phile, showcasing both performance strength and creative range.

DARK & WILD debuted at number two on the Gaon Weekly Album Chart in South Korea and reached number three on Billboard’s World Albums Chart, marking BTS’s continued global growth at an early stage in their career. The release also earned a Bonsang award at the 29th Golden Disc Awards and remains an important part of BTS’s catalog, frequently revisited by fans and streaming audiences alike.
