BTS ‘BEYOND THE STAGE’ BTS DOCUMENTARY PHOTOBOOK : THE DAY WE MEET is an official documentary photobook released on December 22, 2023 through BIGHIT MUSIC and HYBE. Developed as a large scale archival project during BTS’s temporary group hiatus period, the photobook documents the members’ journey from the global pandemic era through their eventual reunion with fans at live performances and concerts. Spanning over 600 pages and accompanied by a first press 2024 desk calendar, the release was presented as a deeply reflective visual record capturing BTS both on and off stage during one of the most transformative periods of their career.

The photobook blends documentary photography, candid behind the scenes imagery and personal interview content that highlights BTS’s emotional connection to music, performance and ARMY. Throughout the project, the members are shown in more natural and intimate environments including daily life moments, backstage preparations, photoshoots and concert settings, creating a cinematic and emotionally layered presentation that differs from standard idol photobooks. The visual storytelling emphasizes themes of perseverance, self reflection, passion and reunion while showcasing previously unseen sides of RM, Jin, SUGA, j hope, Jimin, V and Jung Kook during a uniquely uncertain chapter in their journey.

‘BEYOND THE STAGE’ BTS DOCUMENTARY PHOTOBOOK : THE DAY WE MEET generated strong emotional reactions from ARMY worldwide following its announcement and release, with fans praising the project’s raw photography, reflective atmosphere and extensive documentation of BTS’s experiences during the pandemic era. 몇 해 전, 봄을 얼마 앞두고 온 세상이 정지했던 순간부터 방탄소년단의 시간들을 담았습니다.

그들은 ‘나’를 주제로 포트레이트 포토를 촬영하고, 데뷔 이래 처음 ‘일상’의 문을 두드리면서 각자의 하루와 취향을 사진으로 남겨보았으며, 여러 차례의 인터뷰로 때마다의 근황과 심경을 털어 놓았습니다.

일상에서, 또 각종 촬영 현장 및 무대 뒤편에서 엿볼 수 있는 내추럴한 면면은 물론 음악과 무대에 관해서라면 멈추지 않는 고뇌와 열정, 희열의 찰나까지. 이를 날것에 가까운 다큐멘터리 포토의 시선으로 따라가며 약 600페이지에 달하는 분량으로 담아냈습니다.
