(G)I-DLE - DUMDI DUMDI

DUMDi DUMDi is the first single album by South Korean girl group (G)I-DLE, released on August 3, 2020 through CUBE Entertainment. Following the darker atmosphere of I trust, the release marked a bright summer comeback for the group, built around the idea of enjoying freedom and the excitement of summer. The physical album was released in DAY and NIGHT versions, reflecting the two sides of the group's summer concept.

The release features the title track “DUMDi DUMDi” and the CD-only track “i'M THE TREND.” “DUMDi DUMDi” is an upbeat dance-pop song combining tropical sounds with a strong moombahton rhythm, energetic percussion, and a catchy whistle hook. Written and composed by Soyeon with Pop Time, the song captures the carefree energy of summer while highlighting (G)I-DLE's distinctive vocals, rap, and performance style. “i'M THE TREND,” meanwhile, is a fan song created with contributions from Minnie, Yuqi, and Soyeon, giving the single album a more playful and celebratory feel.

DUMDi DUMDi became an important release in (G)I-DLE's early discography by showing a lighter side of the group without losing their strong musical identity. With its memorable summer title track, tropical production, and self-produced elements, the single album remains a popular release among Neverland and a notable example of the group's versatility during their early career.
