(G)I-DLE - HEAT - BLAZE Version

HEAT is the first English-language EP by South Korean girl group (G)I-DLE, released on October 6, 2023 through CUBE Entertainment and 88rising. The album marked the group's first release consisting entirely of English-language songs and was created with a stronger focus on their growing international audience. Following the success of I feel and its hit title track “Queencard,” HEAT introduced a more globally oriented chapter of (G)I-DLE's music while maintaining their confident and energetic identity.

The five-track HEAT opens with “I DO,” an 80s-inspired synth-pop track that explores the bittersweet feelings surrounding a past relationship. Title track “I Want That” shifts into a bass-driven club sound with a playful, kitschy atmosphere and powerful vocals, while “Eyes Roll” brings a more sensual and confident energy. “Flip It” continues the upbeat pop approach, and “Tall Trees” closes the EP with a softer, more reflective mood. Together, the songs create a lively pop-focused tracklist while showcasing (G)I-DLE's vocals and distinct personalities in English.

HEAT represented an important step in (G)I-DLE's international expansion and became a notable release in their English-language discography. The EP reached No. 25 on the Billboard 200, giving the group their first entry into the US chart's Top 25. With its energetic production, fully English tracklist, and confident presentation, HEAT offered Neverland around the world a new way to experience (G)I-DLE's music while reinforcing their growing presence in the global K-pop scene.
