(G)I-DLE - I FEEL

I feel is the sixth mini album by South Korean girl group (G)I-DLE, released on May 15, 2023 through CUBE Entertainment. Following I LOVE and I NEVER DIE, the album continues the group's “I” series while shifting toward a lighter and more playful concept centered on self-confidence, self-love, and embracing yourself as you are. Inspired by Y2K and high-teen aesthetics, I feel presents a more colorful and humorous side of (G)I-DLE while maintaining the group's strong creative identity.

The six-track I feel is led by “Queencard,” an energetic pop track built around the message that confidence comes from loving yourself rather than meeting someone else's standards. “Allergy,” released ahead of the album, explores insecurity and comparing yourself to others before leading into the self-assured attitude of “Queencard.” “Lucid” takes a dreamy approach with a distinctive bass riff and organ sounds, while “All Night” combines distorted guitar, slap bass, and a punchy beat for a more carefree atmosphere. “Paradise” offers a warm electro-pop sound, while “Peter Pan” closes the album with acoustic guitar and a groovy swing, reflecting on the confusion of growing into adulthood.

I feel further highlights (G)I-DLE's reputation as a self-producing group, with Soyeon, Minnie, and Yuqi contributing to the songwriting and composition across the album. Its message of accepting yourself regardless of how you feel resonated strongly with Neverland, while the catchy “Queencard” became one of the group's most recognizable songs. With its playful concept, varied production, and confident message, I feel remains an important release in (G)I-DLE's discography.
