INDIGO is the debut solo studio album by BTS leader RM, released on December 2, 2022 through Big Hit Music. The album arrived as part of BTS’s Chapter 2 era of individual projects and serves as a personal archive reflecting RM’s experiences, thoughts, and artistic growth in his late twenties. The release was promoted with the lead single Wild Flower featuring Youjeen, presenting a reflective concept that explores identity, creativity, and the balance between fame and authenticity.

The album blends hip hop, alternative, R&B, and indie influences that highlight RM’s versatility as a solo artist and songwriter. Led by Wild Flower, the project also features standout tracks such as Still Life, Yun, and Closer, along with collaborations with artists including Erykah Badu, Anderson .Paak, Tablo of Epik High, and Mahalia. Across its ten tracks, the album explores themes of loneliness, ambition, art, and personal reflection while showcasing RM’s introspective storytelling and evolving musical style.

INDIGO achieved strong international success and set major milestones for a Korean solo artist. The album peaked at number 3 on the Billboard 200, becoming at the time the highest charting album by a Korean soloist and earning RM his first solo top ten entry on the chart. It also performed strongly across multiple Billboard genre charts and digital rankings worldwide, further strengthening RM’s presence as a solo artist and deepening his connection with ARMY around the world.
