SEVENTEEN - FACE THE SUN - Standard Version

SEVENTEEN’s fourth studio album, FACE THE SUN, was released on May 27, 2022, through PLEDIS Entertainment, marking a powerful new chapter in the thirteen-member group’s career. Built around the idea of facing challenges and stepping into the light, the album explores SEVENTEEN’s ambition to make their presence known without being held back by fear or expectations. With a bold visual concept and a confident musical direction, FACE THE SUN captures the group’s determination to move forward on their own terms while continuing to grow alongside their fandom, CARAT.

The title track “HOT” combines Western-inspired guitar riffs, heavy bass, and hip-hop elements to create an intense, performance-driven sound that reflects the album’s fearless attitude. “Darl+ing” offers a softer contrast with its bright synth-pop production and warm message about connection and belonging. “DON QUIXOTE” builds around a driving rhythm and lyrics about pursuing dreams despite obstacles, while “March” delivers an energetic, forward-moving sound. “Shadow” explores the more vulnerable sides of ambition, and “IF you leave me” highlights the members’ emotional vocals through a heartfelt ballad. Together, the songs balance SEVENTEEN’s powerful performance style with personal reflections on growth, desire, and determination.

FACE THE SUN became a major commercial milestone for SEVENTEEN, selling over two million copies on its first day in South Korea and debuting at No. 7 on the US Billboard 200. Its success reflected the group’s growing international popularity and the strong connection they had built with CARAT through years of music, performances, and self-produced artistry. With its ambitious concept, diverse tracklist, and message of facing the world without fear, FACE THE SUN remains a defining album in SEVENTEEN’s discography and an important release in their global rise.
