V - TYPE 非

TYPE 非 is the second official solo photobook project by South Korean singer V of BTS, released on January 19, 2026 through BIGHIT MUSIC and HYBE. Following the release of TYPE 1 in 2024, this hardcover photobook was developed with V’s direct involvement from planning to photography and presents a more conceptual and artistic continuation of his solo visual storytelling. Spanning 278 pages across 20 connected chapters, TYPE 非 explores the idea of “non fixed identity,” with the character “非” symbolizing a refusal to be confined to a single image or category.

The photobook embraces a darker and more experimental visual direction compared to V’s previous work, blending cinematic photography, surreal imagery and emotionally layered concepts that showcase his versatility as both an artist and creative director. Through varying moods, styling and atmosphere, the project explores themes of duality, fluidity and self expression while highlighting V’s evolving artistic sensibility beyond traditional idol imagery. The presentation moves between raw vulnerability and intense dramatic aesthetics, reflecting a broader exploration of identity and artistic freedom.

TYPE 非 generated major attention from ARMY and global media following the release of its teasers and official launch, with fans praising the photobook’s cinematic direction and conceptual depth.
