YENA - 네모네모 - PLVE Version

YENA released her third single album, 네모네모 (NEMONEMO), on September 30, 2024, through Yuehua Entertainment. Continuing to develop her distinctive blend of colourful visuals and playful pop, the release explores the awkward, unpredictable feelings that come with falling in love in the digital age. Its title, which translates to “Square Square,” reflects the geometric imagery woven throughout the concept, giving the album a quirky visual identity that complements YENA’s energetic personality. With its bright aesthetic and catchy melodies, NEMONEMO delivers another lively chapter in her solo K-pop career.

The title track “NEMONEMO” combines electronic dance-pop with chiptune-inspired sounds, playful synths, and an addictive chorus that mirrors the song’s theme of navigating a confusing crush. Its quirky production and energetic rhythm create a sound that feels both modern and nostalgic, while YENA’s expressive vocals bring out the humorous frustration of trying to understand someone’s feelings. The single album also includes “Sugar,” which adds a sweeter, more romantic touch, and “It Was Love,” offering another perspective on the excitement and uncertainty of relationships. Together, the three tracks balance bubbly energy with the relatable emotions of young love.

NEMONEMO highlights YENA’s ability to turn everyday feelings into distinctive musical concepts, combining playful storytelling with bold visuals and memorable pop production. The release continues the colourful artistic direction seen throughout her solo discography while introducing fresh electronic textures and a new geometric motif. For fans of YENA and K-pop, NEMONEMO is a standout addition to her collection, showcasing her charm, versatility, and knack for creating catchy songs with a recognisable personality.
