YOUNG POSSE - ATE THAT

YOUNG POSSE’s third EP ATE THAT was released on August 21, 2024 through DSP Media and BEATS Entertainment, continuing the group’s distinctive hip-hop-focused approach to K-pop. The five-member group returns with a bold and playful concept that builds on the unconventional style established through MACARONI CHEESE and XXL. ATE THAT presents YOUNG POSSE with a more confident attitude while keeping the humor and individuality that have become central to their music.

The title track “ATE THAT” delivers a confident hip-hop sound with a strong beat and catchy hook, giving the members plenty of space for energetic rap performances. “Bananas” takes the group’s playful approach even further with an eccentric concept and rhythmic production, while “Loading…” offers a more laid-back sound that highlights a different side of their musical style. The songs maintain YOUNG POSSE’s focus on hip-hop while using contrasting moods and playful details to keep the EP varied and engaging.

ATE THAT further established YOUNG POSSE as a group willing to experiment with concepts and sounds outside the typical K-pop formula. The release continued the progression from their earlier EPs while giving the members another opportunity to showcase their rap skills and distinctive performance style. With its bold title track, playful concept, and strong hip-hop identity, ATE THAT represents another important step in YOUNG POSSE’s developing discography.
