YOUNG POSSE’s second EP XXL was released on March 20, 2024 through DSP Media and BEATS Entertainment, building on the playful hip-hop identity introduced with their debut MACARONI CHEESE. The release presents a more confident side of the five-member group while keeping their unconventional approach to K-pop. With XXL, YOUNG POSSE expands their musical world through bold production, energetic performances, and a concept centered around wanting to make everything bigger.

The title track “XXL” draws from 1990s hip-hop influences and combines a strong beat with confident rap-focused performances. “Scars” takes a more emotional direction, exploring feelings of insecurity and the desire to overcome personal struggles, while “DND” brings a brighter and more playful energy. “Roty” has a more relaxed hip-hop sound, and “Sky Line” adds another atmospheric moment to the EP. The tracklist balances YOUNG POSSE’s heavier rap style with softer and more melodic songs, showing a broader range than their debut.

XXL helped YOUNG POSSE further establish their identity as one of K-pop’s more unconventional rookie groups. The EP received attention for its strong hip-hop influences and the members’ active involvement in the group’s performances and musical direction.
